BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- The Georgia women's golf team carded a 10-over 298 in Sunday's final round of the SEC Championship and finished in 10th place. The Bulldogs covered the 54 holes at Greystone Golf and Country Club at 893.

Manuela Carbajo Ré led the Bulldogs with her second-consecutive even-par 72. Georgia's other counters were a 74 from Rocio Sanchez Lobato and a pair of 76s, the score signed for by Sylvie Brick, Harang Lee and Sammi Lee.

The Bulldogs climbed as high as sixth on the leaderboard at the midway point of Sunday's round but then fell painfully short of a much more impressive finish. Georgia was a stroke shy of Auburn in ninth, two shots away from No. 9 Arkansas and four strokes away from No. 4 LSU.

"You can't take away holes in any sport but if you take away the first six holes the first day and the last three or four holes today, we might be a top-3 or top-4 team (this weekend)," head coach Josh Brewer said.

Wins over those teams would have positively impacted Georgia's ranking with the NCAA Championships selection committee. The Bulldogs entered the SECs ranked No. 65 nationally.

"I just hope the give us a chance at Regionals," Brewer said. "I think this team deserves it. I think this program deserves it. Over the past month, there's no doubt we've played well enough to earn a bid. If not, we know we fought as hard as we could."

Individually, Carbajo Ré tied for 12th at 2-over 218, Harang Lee tied for 20th at 221, Sanchez Lobato tied for 30th at 223, Sammi Lee tied for 61st at 234 and Brick tied for 64th at 236.

Texas A&M swept the team and individual titles. The Aggies finished at 851, a dozen shots ahead of No. 2 South Carolina. Bianca Fabrizio, who began the weekend at the No. 4 spot in the A&M lineup, captured medalist honors at 9-under 207.
