KNOXVILLE, Tenn. --- The Georgia volleyball team (5-25, 0-18) closed the 2015 season on Friday night, falling 3-0 at Tennessee (21-12, 7-11).
Senior Jasmine Eatmon finished her last collegiate match with a team-best nine kills, hitting .381 for the night. The California native also tabbed a trio of blocks. After redshirting her first year in Athens, Eatmon concludes her career with 734 kills, a .308 hitting clip and 350 blocks in 434 sets played. Her hitting percentage and 302 block assists puts her in the top 10 all-time in Georgia's record books.
Sophomore Cassidy Anderson earned a match-best 16 digs while fellow classmate Kendall Kazor along with redshirt junior Desiree McCray added four blocks each, as Georgia outblocked Tennessee 8-5.
Kazor dished out 18 assists to go with four kills while freshman Sarah Lagler-Clark added 13 assists and one of Georgia's three service aces.
After having Tennessee lead the frame early, Georgia caught up, tying it at 11 each after a Devan Porter kill. The Vols then went on a 5-1 run to pull back ahead 16-12 and force a Georgia timeout. The Bulldogs were within two late at 22-20 with an Eatmon kill from Lagler-Clark, but Tennessee's Kendra Turner's eighth kill of the frame sealed the home team's 25-21 win.
With Tennessee ahead 5-1, Georgia didn't panic, returning with a run of its own to knot it at 5 each. Tennessee continued to hold the edge, opening it up with a 7-4 run to 22-15. Spencer and McCray notched back-to-back kills late, but Tennessee went to the locker room with a 2-0 lead after winning 25-20.
In the final set, Georgia held the opening lead, as a block from Maddie Lobenstein put the Bulldogs up 7-5. However, a quick 4-0 run by the Vols had them in the lead, which they wouldn't relinquish. A McCray-Megan Spencer tandem at the net closed the gap at 19-17, but Tennessee would go on to win 25-21.
