ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia head coach Jack Bauerle continued to announce the swimming class on Friday after receiving four additional national letters of intent from instate prospects.

• Katherine Aikens, Cumming, Ga.: Aikens swims at Lambert High School for Coach Kerry Langley and for Swim Atlanta under Coach Jeff Hike. She is one of the top two freestyle prospects in the state as well as one of the top backstroke and individual medley prospects. Aikens has a 4.0 GPA and is a scholastic All-American. Said Bauerle, "She has increased the volume and intensity of her training and should be capable of making strong contributions in the middle distance events as well. Keeping her instate was important to us because she has the potential to contribute at the NCAA level individually and on relays."

• Mary Claire Cardwell, Madison, Ga.: Cardwell swims for Coach Susan Courchaine at Morgan County High School where she holds eight records. Cardwell also swims under Coach Harvey Humphries for the Athens Bulldog Swim Club. Cardwell is a Junior Nationals qualifier in the 100-yard backstroke and was the runner up in that event at the state high school meet. Cardwell has a 4.0 GPA and is a Scholastic All-American and a member of the National Honor Society. Said Bauerle, "Cardwell has great natural speed and feel for the water in her backstroke events. With good work habits, she has the capability of rising to the top of our depth charts in the backstroke events."

• Jackson Ford, Avondale Estates, Ga.: Ford attends Druid Hills High School and swims under Coach Matt Ruben. He also swims under Coach Jason Turcotte at Dynamo Swim Club. Ford is one of the top five breaststroke recruits in the state. Ford is a Scholastic All-American with a GPA of 4.0 and is ranked eighth in his class. Said Bauerle, "Last year he was one of the top breaststroke recruits out of the state of Georgia. He has a fantastic upside as to what he can achieve in college because of his technique and size."

• Lexi Glunn, Marietta, Ga.: Glunn swims at Lassiter High School under Coach Brittany Hughes and for Chattahoochee Gold under Coach Andy Eaton. She is a three-time Georgia state champion in the 200-yard breaststroke and she earned state titles in the 200 and 400 individual medley and she is a High School All-American. Glunn is the top breaststroke prospect in the state and is one of the top four individual medley prospects. Said Bauerle, "Glunn will be a great addition to next year's class. She will bring good depth to our breaststroke group and also should be a strong contributor in the IMs. Her best swimming is ahead of her."
