A Quick Chat With ... Jordan Jenkins

A lot of words have to be included in any description of Georgia senior outside linebacker Jordan Jenkins. Among the many are: big (he's listed at 6-foot-3, 253 pounds), gregarious, enthusiastic, interesting and talented (a four-year starter, he was second-team All-SEC after last season and preseason All-SEC going into his final year).
A leg injury limited Jenkins against Tennessee last week and may keep him on the sideline this week when the Bulldogs host Missouri on Saturday. The Hamilton, Ga., native leads the Dogs this season with three sacks, seven-and-a-half tackles for loss and nine quarterback hurries.
Last week the very chatty Jenkins made time for a quick chat about trying to tackle Herschel, drawing, bringing down a goal post and much more. Here's some of what he had to say:
Frierson: If you could have played with or against anyone in history, who would it be?
Jenkins: One, I'd love to play against Herschel Walker, just to see if I could take him down. I wouldn't mind playing with (associate head coach and Will linebackers coach Tracy Rocker, a two-time All-American at Auburn) back in his glory days, just to watch how dominant he was in his day.
Frierson: What do you do to get away from football? In the quiet moments of your day, which may be few and far between, how do you spend your time?
Jenkins: My quiet time is either spent playing basketball with my friends or just playing my Xbox, playing (NBA) 2K or Call of Duty.
Frierson: If you could recommend two bands or musicians that you really like but that a lot of folks might not have heard of, who would they be?
Jenkins: One of the new artists I've been listening to a little bit is G-Eazy. A pre-game band I listen to, to get ready for the game, is Bring Me The Horizon or Korn, just to get hyped up.
Frierson: What's the most creative thing you do? And what do you get out of it?
Jenkins: That would have to be either the video game montage I used to make in high school or this little abstract art design I always draw when I get bored.
The design, I think it looks cool. Somebody asked to buy it and I'm like, I can't, it's against NCAA rules. I really just like looking at the final piece and seeing the final piece after all the hard work. There's a sense of accomplishment.
Frierson: If you could have played any other sport for the Bulldogs, what would it be?
Jenkins: It would either have to be basketball or golf. Golf's a fun sport if you can get it down and basketball's just fun because I love dunking on people.
Frierson: As a football player I would guess that you like the peace and quiet of being on a golf course.
Jenkins: It definitely relaxes you, but I couldn't play on one of those hot summer days. I played in a charity golf tournament once for six hours and realized how draining that can be.
Frierson: When you think back to your high school days, is there a moment that stands out as just one of those pure, blissful moments that you'll carry with you forever?
Jenkins: Immediately when you mentioned high school I saw the goal post on the screen behind you and my senior year, when we were playing Northgate High School, during pregame warmups we had a thing where the D-line would always go and dunk on the goal post (crossbar).
I was the first one up and I went and dunked on the (crossbar), and the next thing I know I'm on the ground. I look up and the whole goal post is bent over on the ground. I immediately walked away and acted like I didn't do it. We ended up putting it back to normal, but that was one of the craziest moments I had in high school football.
Frierson: Did you get in trouble for that?
Jenkins: Oh no, we got it back up and fixed it before any of their staff came out and saw it.
