Hogrell Earns SEC Defensive Player Of The Week Honors

ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia freshman Louise Hogrell came away with two shutouts over the weekend on her way to SEC Defensive Player of the Week honors, the league office announced Monday. It marks the second weekly honor of the goalkeeper's young career as she was named the Freshman of the Week on Aug. 25.
The Asa, Sweden, native now sits with three clean sheets on the season as she helped the Bulldogs (4-1-1) to the weekend sweep of Houston and No. 17 UCF. Through six outings, Hogrell has allowed multiple goals in a game just once. She recorded three saves over the weekend and now stands with a total of 16 on the year to go along with a 0.80 goals-against average in over 565 minutes of action.
Hogrell and the Bulldogs will ride their three-game winning streak into Friday night's home match-up vs. Mercer and Sunday's road trip to Furman.
