Georgia's additional counting scores were a 73 from Rocio Sanchez Lobato, a 76 from Manuela Carbajo Ré and a 77 from Isabella Skinner. The Bulldogs' dropped Harang Lee's 78.
"It was a very solid opening round," head coach Josh Brewer said. "It was a great round by Amira continues her strong four weeks. It was a good round by Rocio, too. She hung in there and gave us a solid number. There were a lot positives and we look forward to building on those over the next two days."
Individually, Sanchez Lobato is tied for 31st, Carbajo Ré is tied for 66th, Skinner is tied for 80th and Lee is tied for 91th.
Georgia teed off from No. 10 and played the back half of the Yeamans Hall layout first on Sunday. Alexander bogeyed No. 11 but birdied No. 12, No. 14 and No. 18 to turn at 2-under. She moved to 3-under with a birdie at No. 1, her 10th hole of the day, but surrendered a stroke with a bogey at No. 6.
Wake Forest's Sierra Sims fired a 7-under 65 to lead the Demon Deacons to the team lead with a 6-under 282. Jessica Peng of Mississippi State is three strokes behind Sims, while Wake is a shot ahead of Arkansas in the team competition.

CHARLESTON, S.C. --- Amira Alexander's 2-under 70 paced the Georgia women's golf team en route to an 8-over 296 in Sunday's opening round of the Powerade Cougar Classic on Sunday. Alexander is ninth and the Bulldogs are 13th on the individual and team leaderboards, respectively.
