ATHENS-----Former University of Georgia standout Courtney Kupets is among five individuals who will be inducted into the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame, it was announced Monday.

Kupets will be honored on Aug. 22 at the Westin Hotel in Pittsburgh, Pa., during the P&G Gymnastics Championships and the USA Gymnastics National Congress and Trade Show. Joining Kupets in the 2014 class will be Nastia Liukin, Lisa Wang, Blaine Wilson, Jolo Jones and former Illinois men's coach Yoshi Hayasaki.

A member of the 2004 Olympic team, Kupets helped lead the U.S. to a silver medal in Athens, Greece, and she also claimed the bronze medal on the uneven bars. She was also a member of the 2003 gold medal U.S. World Championships team, and in 2008 she was inducted into the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame as a member of that 2003 team.

Kupets was a member of four NCAA Championship teams from 2006-09. As a senior in 2009, she led Georgia to its fifth straight NCAA Championship, and she won the all-around, bars, beam and floor individual competitions. She became the first gymnast ever to win a national title in all four events and received five first team All-America honors, making a total of 15 for her career, the maximum for only competing three years.

Kupets set the NCAA record with nine individual championships and was named 2009 SEC Athlete of the Year, as well as the AAI National, NCAA Southeast Regional and SEC Gymnast of the Year. Kupets became the third Gym Dog ever to record a 10.0 in all four events, and she had seven 10.0s in 2009, including three at the NCAAs. She was awarded the Honda-Broderick Cup in 2009 as the nation's top female collegiate athlete.
