Defense Shuts Down Auburn:
Georgia held Auburn to a season-low seven points (coming on its opening drive), and it was the fewest overall in game Coach Gus Malzahn's two years at the helm. Only four teams, including Auburn, had scored at least 20 points in every game since the 2013 season. Coming into tonight, Auburn was third in the SEC and 13th nationally at 38.7 points per game. Senior ILB Amarlo Herrera led the defense with 12 tackles, 1 TFL and an interception. Meanwhile, Georgia's offense came in leading the SEC and seventh nationally in scoring at 38.7 and tallied 34.

Series History:
With tonight's 34-7 victory over No. 9 Auburn, the Bulldogs (8-2, 6-2 SEC) even the Deep South's oldest rivalry at 55-55-8 in this the 118th all-time meeting. It's the 17th time that the teams have had an equal amount of wins in the series. Tonight's win was the highest ranked team Georgia has beaten since outlasting No. 6 LSU here last year 44-41.

Rushing Attack Thrives:
Freshman TB Nick Chubb became the 12th Bulldog in school history to reach 1,000 yards rushing in a season with his performance on Saturday. Chubb finished with 144 yards on 19 carries and a touchdown, and hauled in two catches for 48 yards. Chubb became the first Bulldog to lead Georgia in rushing and receiving in the same game since junior TB Todd Gurley did it in the 2014 Gator Bowl. For the year, Chubb has 1,039 yards on 152 carries with nine TDs.

Chubb scored his eighth rushing touchdown on a 4th-and-1 situation from the Auburn 9-yard line at the 8:48 mark in the second quarter to put Georgia up 14-7. The Bulldogs are now 8-for-10 on fourth down conversions this year. Georgia entered into the Red Zone six times and went 6-for-6 while Auburn was 0-for-1 inside the 20-yard line.

Chubb is the first freshman to reach 1,000+ since Gurley in 2012 (1,385). Gurley returned to action after missing four games and had 29 carries for 138 yards and a touchdown. This marks the first time two Bulldog backs have gone for more than 100 yards in the same game since Gurley (116) and Keith Marshall (105) did it versus Auburn in 2012. Gurley has 36 career rushing touchdowns, moving him to No. 2 in school history. He also now has 3,285 career yards and that is the second-most rushing yards in UGA history.

Long Distance TD Drive:
Georgia used an 11-play, 98-yard touchdown drive to extend its advantage to 34-7 in the fourth quarter. It marked the longest TD drive by the Bulldogs since 2011 when it went 99 yards on eight plays at Ole Miss. For the game, Georgia finished 412 yards of offense including 289 rushing. Senior QB Hutson Mason was 10-for-19 for 123 yards and one TD.

Points off Turnovers:
Georgia scored 14 points off three turnovers. Junior SN Nathan Theus grabbed the ball on an Auburn muffed punt on the Tiger 19. Four plays later, junior WR Malcolm Mitchell caught a 7-yard touchdown from senior QB Hutson Mason. This was Mitchell's second touchdown catch in as many games. In the fourth quarter, Herrera caught his third career interception at the UGA 2-yard line on a 4th-and-13 situation. Redshirt freshman Devin Bellamy recovered a fumble forced by Malkolm Parrish with 2:01 left and the Bulldogs ran out the clock. The Bulldogs have a +16 turnover margin. Georgia has scored 76 points off 22 turnovers, while opponents have tallied six points off six Bulldog miscues.

For Starters:
Senior C David Andrews started his team-leading 37th consecutive game. On defense, the Bulldog with the longest starting streak is Herrera now at 25, and he's got 40 career starts.

Seniors David Andrews (C), Chris Conley (WR), Mike Thornton (N), Kosta Vavlas (ILB) served as the Bulldog captains.
