WILMETTE, Illinois --- The Georgia women's golf team carded successive scores of 299 and 294 in the first and second rounds of the Windy City Collegiate Championship on Monday, placing the Bulldogs in fifth entering Tuesday's final round.

Georgia's performance was even more impressive considering the Bulldogs played the second round with only four golfers. Senior Rocio Sanchez Lobato missed the afternoon due to stiffness in her neck.

Harang Lee delivered a clutch loop in Sanchez Lobato's absence, firing a collegiate career low of 3-under 69 to pace the Bulldogs. Georgia also counted a 73 from Manuela Carbajo Ré and a pair of 76s from Amira Alexander and Isabella Skinner in the second round.

"It was a great effort this afternoon," head coach Josh Brewer said. "We really played well after the first six of seven holes this morning. We started slow, but the scores we put up the rest of the day are really what we've been doing as a group in qualifying all fall. Hats off to the four who put up that number this afternoon, especially Harang, who stepped up and gave us a great round."

Lee's afternoon loop started with seven consecutive pars before a birdie at No. 8. She turned at 1-under and proceed to slice two more strokes off that tally with birdies at No. 10 and No. 15.

"Harang hit it well all day," Brewer said. "She just struggled with her putting a little on those first nine holes, but she was good tee-to-green all day. She missed a few putts early, but those last 27 holes she made some putts when she needed to to keep her round going and post a really solid number."

The Bulldogs' first-round counting scores were a 73 from Carbajo Ré, a 74 from Alexander, a 75 from Sanchez Lobato and a 77, the tally signed for by both Lee and Skinner.

Overall, Carbajo Ré and Lee are tied for 11th at 2-over 146, Alexander is tied for 26th at 150 and Skinner is tied for 46th at 153. Tulane's Emily Penttila is the individual leader, posting a course-record of 6-under 66 in the afternoon en route to a 7-under tally for the day.

Southern Cal leads the team field at 581, six strokes ahead of tournament host Northwestern. Rounding out the top-10 teams are Oklahoma State at 589, Tulane at 592, the Bulldogs at 593, Arizona at 594, Iowa State at 595, Purdue at 596, Minnesota at 604 and Miami and Oregon both at 605.

"It would have been nice to be in that final group and get that experience," Brewer said. "We've got a chance to finish first or second tomorrow, which would be a great accomplishment."

Brewer is hopeful Sanchez Lobato will be able to return to action on Tuesday.

"Ro's neck has been bothering her," he said. "It started some this summer. She didn't play this afternoon as a precaution more than anything. Hopefully, she'll be healthy for tomorrow. We'll see if she can get loose. My assumption is that she'll give it a go and see if she can make it, but we'll be careful with her."
