ATHENS, Ga. – Georgia equestrian Western captain Morgan Justiss has been selected as an inductee for the 2014-2015 Leadership Academy. Justiss joins fellow equestrian Paige Stawicki who was inducted last year.

“I am honored to be seen as a leader on my team,” said Justiss. “I am also honored to be surrounded by fellow student athletes who show the same character.”

The induction to L.E.A.D. is among many accomplishments Justiss has earned during her career at Georgia. She has been named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll in each of her years at Georgia, as well as the NCEA Academic Honor Roll. Most recently Justiss was selected as the recipient of the 2014-15 Joel Eaves Scholar Athlete Award with a 3.97 GPA. The award is presented to the male and female student-athletes with the highest GPA in the athletic program entering the fall semester of their senior year (as defined by hours) on all courses taken at the University of Georgia. Additionally, a student-athlete must have earned at least two varsity letters to be eligible for the award.

L.E.A.D. is in its fifth year and has over 70 student-athlete members with the addition of this year’s class. Athletes are selected based on several criteria including academic and athletic success, leadership, campus and community service involvement and recommendations of head coaches and academic counselors.
