ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia soccer forward Madeline Barker has been named to the CollegeSoccer360.com Primetime Performers Weekly Honor Roll, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.
Barker's national accolades come after her five-point performance in the Bulldogs' sweep of Mercer and Furman over the weekend. With those wins, Georgia moved to 3-1 on the year and has won three straight.
After an adding an assist off a corner kick in Georgia's 3-0 win over the Bears on Friday, Barker found the scoring column twice on Sunday vs. the Paladins, notching the first multiple-goal game of her career and Georgia's first since Oct. 19, 2012 as she led the Bulldogs to the 2-0 victory. Her first goal - and the eventual game-winner - came in the 21st minute when she took a pass from teammate Torri Allen and beat the Furman defender before firing far post and into the bottom left corner to give her team the 1-0 edge. She then cushioned the lead in the 56th minute when she stole the ball inside the 18 and sent one upper 90 to make it 2-0. Barker finished with 10 total shots on the weekend and eight vs. Furman.
The Bulldogs are back in action this weekend, playing a rare split as they host Jacksonville on Friday night at the UGA Soccer Stadium before traveling to face UNC Greensboro on the road on Sunday.
