Bulldogs Perfect In Match Play As SEC Claims Title

KINGSTON SPRINGS, Tenn. --- The No. 8 Georgia men's golf team did its part to elevate the SEC to the conference title of the Dick's Sporting Goods Collegiate Cup Challenge on Sunday.
One day after claiming the 54-hole team crown at The Golf Club of Tennessee, the Bulldogs went 5-0 in match play against Clemson. Georgia and four of its contemporaries from the SEC topped the ACC 17-8 to take the event's "Top Conference" honor.
The Bulldogs were the only SEC team to go undefeated on Sunday. Junior Mookie DeMoss dominated Clemson's Carson Young 9&7, sophomore Lee McCoy notched a 3&2 victory over Miller Capps, junior Nicholas Reach topped Austin Langdale 2&1, senior Michael Cromie won 2-up over Stephen Behr, and senior Joey Garber posted a 1-up win over Cody Proveaux.
In the other matches, Tennessee beat Wake Forest 3-2, Mississippi State defeated Boston College 3-2, Vanderbilt topped Duke 4-1 and Virginia knocked off Texas A&M 3-2.
The Bulldogs' win on Saturday was the 50th in Coach Chris Haack's career.
