Georgia Perfect on Saturday in Charleston

ATHENS, Ga.—After a morning weather delay, Georgia was perfect again on Saturday at the College of Charleston Halloween Challenge. Through two days of competition, the Bulldogs are 6-0 in doubles competition and 10-0 in singles play.
In doubles, the Bulldogs followed on Friday's doubles victories with another dominating performance. In flight one, the second-ranked pair of Kate Fuller and Silvia Garcia topped Marshall's Dana Oppinger and Karli Timko, 8-1. In flight two, No. 50 Lauren Herring and Maho Kowase beat Kelly Kambourleis and Mara Argyriou of College of Charleston, 8-3. Herring and Kowase now lead Georgia with ten doubles wins this fall. In flight three, Mia King and Lilly Kimbell outdid College of Charleston's Brooke McAmis and Katherine Schofield, 8-1.
In singles, third-ranked Lauren Herring was first off the court, picking up her eighth win of the fall after shutting out Denver's Evy Van Genechten. In flight two, No. 14 Kowase overwhelmed Denver's Mauren Slattery, 6-1, 6-1. In flight four, Kimbell outlasted the Pioneers' Kathryn Hughes, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 for a team-high 12th win this season. In flight five, Fuller rushed to a 6-2, 6-0 win over Sonja Radosevic of Denver. King topped Charlotte Derbyshire 6-2, 6-2 in flight six. It was both Fuller and King's fifth win of the fall.
The tournament, which will conclude tomorrow, started Friday and is broken down into seven flights with four players in each flight. Flight champions will be determined via a round robin format.
In addition to the host College of Charleston, N.C. State, Marshall and Denver are also participate in the Halloween Challenge. This is the last full team competition of the fall for the Bulldogs. Herring, Kowase and Garcia will travel to New York next week for the ITA National Indoors.
