Rogers Wraps Up Competition At Olympics

LONDON-----Incoming Georgia freshman Brittany Rogers concluded competition at the London Olympics by competing in the individual vault finals on Sunday.

Rogers, who last week helped Canada reach the team final for the first time in a non-boycotted Olympics, placed seventh on vault with a 14.483 average.

Sandra Raluca Izbasa of Romania took home the gold with a 15.191, while the United States’ McKayla Maroney won silver with a 15.083, and Russia’s Maria Paseka claimed the bronze with a 15.050.

Earlier this week, Rogers and Canada finished fifth in the team finals, which was the best result ever posted by a Canadian Olympic gymnastics team.
