Georgia To Face Winner Of Auburn-South Carolina

ATHENS, Ga. --- The fourth-ranked Georgia men's tennis team (20-2, 10-1) earned the No. 2 seed for next week's SEC Championships and will receive a first-round bye before meeting the winner of the Auburn-South Carolina match in the quarterfinals.

The Bulldogs will take on either the Tigers or the Gamecocks on Fri., April 20 at 9 a.m. ET at Mississippi State's Pitts Tennis Centre in Starkville, Miss. UGA defeated both Auburn and South Carolina earlier this season, each by a 6-1 score.

Georgia's semifinal match would be Saturday at noon, with the finals set for Sunday at 2 p.m. ET.

Georgia is going in search of its league-best 34th overall Southeastern Conference title and eighth by way of the tournament. Georgia won the tournament in 1991, 1993, 1995, 2001, 2004, 2006, and 2007. The winner earns an automatic bid into the NCAA Championships.

Kentucky - the 2012 SEC regular-season champion - is the top seed followed by Georgia, Mississippi State, and Florida as the four teams receiving byes. A full bracket is attached in PDF format.
