Hill Heads To World Cup Qualifier In Panama

ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia sophomore defender Nikki Hill wrapped up pre-tournament camp in Costa Rica this week and is headed to Panama with the Canadian U20 women's soccer team to participate in the 2012 CONCACAF championship March 1-11.

The squad made its final round of cuts this week following camp, with Hill making the roster of 20 players. The CONCACAF tournament serves as the qualifier for the U20 World Cup set for this August in Japan, with the top three teams advancing.

Hill and the Canadian U20s will take on Haiti on Thurs., March 1, Jamaica on Sat., March 3, and Mexico on Mon., March 5. The semifinals are scheduled for March 9 and the championship final will take place on March 11.

As Georgia's starting left back in 2011, Hill played in all 21 games with 18 starts, and logged her first career goal vs. Ole Miss on Oct. 9 in Athens.
