ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia sophomore Alexa Newfield was named the SoccerSavings.com/Soccer News Net Women's College Player of the Week for her most recent performances vs. Mercer and Georgia State, the organizations announced Wednesday. The award comes after she was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.

Newfield helped the Bulldogs to the weekend sweep of its in-state rivals as Georgia remains undefeated all-time against other teams from the Peach State. The Atlanta native scored four goals and added two assists for 10 points, having a hand in all six Georgia scores on the weekend. Her two goals vs. Mercer made all the difference as the Bulldogs earned the 2-1 win in overtime - good for her second OT winner of the season.

Newfield's weekend moved her atop most all the SEC stat categories, as she now sits first in points (15), tied for first in goals (6), first in shots (31), and first in shots per game (4.43).
