ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia soccer sophomore defender Nikki Hill had a successful freshman season in 2010, playing in 17 games and helping the team advance in the SEC Tournament. This year, Hill hopes to continue her performance on the defensive side of the ball. Hill shared her thoughts about the 2011 season and her plan of attack for the Bulldogs in this edition of Q&A.

Q: What do you think it's going to take to make it to the NCAA tournament?

A: Last year we didn't necessarily lose very many games, but some games we came out with a tie instead of a win and that affected our NCAA bid. I think it'll take us performing well on both Friday and Sunday matches and coming out of the weekends with a sweep.

Q: If you weren't playing soccer, what other sport would you want to play?

A: If I wasn't playing soccer I would like to run Cross Country or play Tennis. I'm good friends with a lot of the tennis girls here at UGA and they're awesome!

Q: What's your favorite part about playing soccer?

A: My favorite part about playing soccer is the competitive nature of the sport and being able to represent my university and country.

Q: Why did you choose to play for UGA?

A: I chose to play for UGA because I wanted to be a part of a program on the rise. I wanted to play in a top conference like the SEC and see a different part of the country coming from Arizona.

Q: What are your personal goals for this season?

A: My personal goals for the season are for our defense to have as many shutouts as possible. I would also like to contribute to the attack by getting forward and getting as many assists as I can.

Q: Why did you start playing soccer?

A: I started playing soccer because I tried many different sports and soccer was the most enjoyable.

Q: What's your favorite food?

A: My favorite food is Chicken and mashed potatoes.

Q: What's your favorite movie?

A: My favorite movie is Lincoln Lawyer.

Q: What is something that people would be surprised to know about you?

A: People would be surprised to know that I was born in Canada, am still a Canadian citizen and play for the U20 Canadian National Soccer Team.

Q: What are two words that you would use to describe yourself?

A: Hardworking and dedicated.

Q: What does it mean to you to be a Georgia Bulldog?

A: It means a lot to me to be a Georgia Bulldog and be able to represent such a great academic and athletic institution on and off the field.
