Opening Statement...
"They did a good job. [UAB pitcher Leigh Streetman] did a great job pitching. We just didn't make our adjustments and that's something we've definitely got to do if we want to stay alive out there tomorrow. Coming off of a couple of really good weekends, that's a little surprising for us. We have got to make sure to get back to what we're good at, putting the ball in play and getting some good base running. We expect that tomorrow."
On the team's attitude against adversity . . .
"You can tell with the energy in the dugout. It's obviously frustrating because we're getting beaten by the same stuff but even after the game, they brought it together and talked. We know what we need to do to get through tomorrow. We've been here before. This is nothing new for us. I expect them to rally tonight and to be back out there tomorrow."
On the lack of hits after a strong offensive showing in the ACC Tournament...
"It's a ball game. We've been up and down all season and it's not for a lack of effort. We've got some young kids mixed in the lineup so the consistency factor is going to be a little up and down, so they're getting some great experience right now. It's not like we're not swinging the bat. We're being aggressive. It's just that we're not being particular. We'll make that adjustment tomorrow."

"We just didn't come out and play like ourselves today. They did a really good job keeping us off, hitting. We popped up a lot of balls. We need to work more dirt. I just need to go at batters a little better tomorrow and we'll come out and be more of ourselves."

"Just very pleased with the solid performance. We know coming in how important the first win is in this regional format. Leigh [Streetman] pitched an outstanding game against a very talented team. I thought our hitters also did a good job against their pitcher and made some adjustments when they needed to. We came through with some big hits and in games like this one run can make the difference. So I'm pleased but we're not content just yet."
On her team's defense performance . . .
"When Leigh is on the mound, it's our job to keep the defense in the game. She's pitched a ball game where we've had zero assists. As a defense, we have to stay awake and we did that today. The fact that they stayed ready and on the ball was huge. There were some outstanding plays especially in the seventh inning. Our defense was solid all the way around."
