Georgia Track & Field Continues Action At Drake Relays

DES MOINES, Iowa --- Georgia's track and field teams continued their competition on Friday at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa.
Sophomore Saniel Atkinson used her third attempt to clear 5 feet, 10 inches in the high jump and take fourth in the competition to highlight the day.
Junior Colleen Felix fell short of her personal best in the javelin by just an inch after taking third. Her sixth and final throw traveled 156-2.
Georgia's 4x400-meter relay team won its heat and had the second-fastest time of the day to advance to the finals on Saturday. Phillip Adams, Torrin Lawrence, Waymon Storey and Eric Mills combined to clock a season-best 3:08.21.
The Bulldogs' 4x100 relay team advanced to the finals with a time of 40.34. Torrin Lawrence, Phillip Adams, Jevon Maynard and Waymon Storey combined have the fifth-fastest time during the prelims.
After clocking an 11:29 earlier in the year, Stella Christoforou, Odeika Bent, Megan Malasarte and Ashley Shiver crossed the finish line in 11:34.14 for fifth-place honors in the distance medley relay.
Also, freshman Hilenn James opened with a mark of 50 feet to take seventh in the shot put.
