Georgia Men's Tennis Climbs To No. 8

ATHENS-----The Georgia men's tennis team moved up one spot to No. 8 in this week's edition of the Campbell/ITA Rankings released Tuesday. It marks the Bulldogs' highest ranking since coming in at No. 8 last April.
Tennessee is No. 1 followed by Virginia, Southern Cal, Ohio State, California, Texas, Texas A&M, Georgia, Illinois and Duke to round out the top-10.
Georgia (12-3, 4-0 SEC) is coming off a pair of road wins at Vanderbilt and then-No. 11 Kentucky last weekend. UGA beat Vanderbilt 6-1, then rallied from a 3-1 deficit to down the Wildcats 4-3. The Bulldogs will play host to LSU Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
Individually, Georgia has three players in the top-50: Wil Spencer is No. 13, Javier Garrapiz is 25th and Sadio Doumbia is 48th. In doubles, the tandem of Garrapiz and Hernus Pieters is ranked 10th, Doumbia and Ignacio Taboada are No. 32, while Spencer and Drake Bernstein are ranked 47th.
Georgia enters the third week of SEC play tied atop the league standings with Tennessee and Florida.
