ATHENS, Ga. --- A stingy Georgia Tech defense held Georgia (4-5) to just 34 percent shooting for the game, and propelled the Yellow Jackets to a 12 point victory Wednesday night at Stegeman Coliseum.

Georgia senior Gerald Robinson led the Bulldogs with 20 points. Freshman Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and junior Vincent Williams each tallied ten points apiece, whilesophomore Marcus Thornton led Georgia with six rebounds

"That was a very disappointing loss. We're not a very good basketball team right now and that's my responsibility," said head coach Mark Fox. "Our defense collapsed on us in the second half but you have to give Georgia Tech credit. Their defense in the second half was better than our offense. That was just a disappointing loss."

Georgia led for nearly the entire first half, grabbing it's largest lead of seven with 2:24 remaining.

At the 15:14 mark in the second half, Georgia lost its lead for the final time, when Georgia Tech's Daniel Miller hit a baseline jumper to tie the game at 33.

The Yellow Jackets overwhelmed the Bulldogs in the paint, outscoring Georgia 34-14.

For Georgia Tech, freshman Daniel Miller led the way, scoring 10 points and grabbing nine rebounds. Four other Yellow Jackets tallied double figure point totals.

Following a break for final exams, Georgia will return to action on Dec. 17 against Southern Cal in Los Angeles. The game will tip-off at 10 p.m. and be televised on Fox Sports Net.
