ATHENS, Ga. --- Three members of the Georgia soccer team landed on the 2011 All-SEC squads according to a league announcement Monday evening and decided in a vote of the league's 12 head coaches.

Senior Jamie Pollock and sophomore Alexa Newfield were named to the conference's first team while rookie Jenna Owens garnered All-Freshman honors. It is the first time since 2008 that Georgia has two players on the first team.

Pollock's award is the first of her career after the senior has turned in a stellar season in the Bulldog midfield. A native of Powder Springs, the midfielder is one of just four Georgia field players to start all 19 games and has logged just under 1,700 minutes on the season. She has tallied two goals and one assist for five points.

Newfield - a forward from Atlanta - earns her second straight All-SEC honor, becoming the fifth Bulldog to be named to the first team more than once in a career and just the third to do so in her freshman and sophomore seasons, joining Andrea Velasco (2001-02) and Carrie Patterson (2006-07) in that category. Newfield leads the Southeastern Conference in goals (15), points (38), and shots (96), already breaking her own Georgia record for shots in a season and just two points shy of the single-season record in that category. Her seven game-winning goals rank third in the nation.

Owens becomes Georgia's 13th selection to the All-Freshman team after the Colorado native made an immediate impact her first season in Athens. She has started 15 of the 16 games in which she has played after missing the first three contests with an early-season shoulder injury. She is third on the team in points with nine, coming on two goals and five assists playing on the right wing.

Georgia next heads to the 2011 SEC Championships Nov. 2-6 in Orange Beach, Ala., making its seventh straight appearance in the conference tournament and 14th trip overall. The Bulldogs - seeded fifth - take on No. 4 Florida in the quarterfinals Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. ET. Live audio and the live blog will be available on Georgiadogs.com.
