FRANKLIN, Tenn. --- The No. 8-ranked Georgia women's golf team shot 2-under 286 on Saturday to climb from fifth to fourth in the Mason Rudolph Championships at the Vanderbilt Legends Club.

Marta Silva Zamora caught fire late in the day to propel the Bulldogs into red numbers as a team. She birdied her final three holes to finish with a 4-under 68 individually and also push Georgia from 1-over to 2-under on the day.

Tess Fordham carded a career-low 72 for the Bulldogs, who also counted a pair of 73s from Emilie Burger and Amelia Hill. Milena Savich carded a 75.

"I was very pleased with Tess and her even-par round today," head coach Kelley Hester said. "Amelia had another very solid day and Milena showed a lot of determination. She birdied her last two holes to post a solid score.

"Marta was having a very good day that turned into a great day with her three birdies late," Hester continued. "Emilie hung in there. Today was the type of round where she just couldn't seem to get anything going. She gave us what was certainly not a bad round when things weren't going well for her. That's a difficult thing to do."

No. 2 LSU remained atop the team leaderboard after shooting 282. The Tigers are at 560 with 18 hole remaining, a single shot better than No. 20 Purdue. Rounding out the top-10 teams are No. 11 Cal at 564, the Bulldogs and Wake Forest at 570, No. 1 Alabama at 571, No. 10 UCLA at 572, No. 3 Southern Cal at 573, No. 12 Vanderbilt at 574 and No. 6 Duke at 580.

Wake Forest's Michelle Shin shot a 2-under 70 to move to 9-undre 135 through 36 holes. She owns a one-stroke edge over Cal's Pia Halberg and Purdue's Maude-Aimee LeBlanc.

For Georgia, Silva Zamora is fifth, thee shots back at 6-under 138, Burger is tied for 11th at 141, Hill is tied for 39th at 145, Fordham is tied for 52nd at 148 and Savich is tied for 57th at 149.

Silva Zamora was 1-under through nine after she birdied No. 3 and No. 7 and bogeyed No. 8. She remained there until her birdies at No. 16, No. 17 and No. 18.

Fordham recoded the first par-or-better loop as a Bulldog by combining 14 pars with birdies at No. 9 and No. 16 and bogeys at No. 2 and No. 13.

Through 36 holes, the Bulldogs have discarded to very strong scores, a 76 on Friday and a 76 on Saturday.

"We've shown a lot of depth this season," Hester said. "For us to be able to display that kind of depth, especially so early in the season, is great to see."
