ATHENS, Ga. --- The 21st-ranked Georgia soccer team (4-2-1) returns from its West Coast road trip to begin a five-game homestand starting with Friday night's 7 p.m. match-up with the College of Charleston at the UGA Soccer Stadium. The Bulldogs will enjoy a rare Sunday off date before continuing the homestand and opening up SEC competition next weekend here.

The Bulldogs put up a 0-1-1 clip against a pair of top-10 opponents out in California, suffering a 2-1 overtime loss to No. 2 Stanford Friday before battling to a 1-1 tie with ninth-ranked Santa Clara Sunday. The team spent some free time in San Francisco after the game before returning East to prepare for the Cougars.

Live video will be available for the game on Georgiadogs.com, with commentary provides as usual by Kevin Copp. Live stats will also be available.

LAST TIME OUT: After a scoreless first half, the Georgia soccer team took No. 9 Santa Clara to overtime and earned a tough 1-1 tie Sunday afternoon at Cagan Stadium in the Stanford Nike Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif.

Santa Clara scored in the 63rd minute before Jamie Pollock netted the tying goal for Georgia with just nine minutes on the clock. Regulation ended 1-1 and the teams were unable to decide it in two overtimes.

By game's end Santa Clara had fired 29 shots and Georgia 19. Baker came away with 10 saves, just one off the career-high 11 she had Friday against the host Cardinal. Freshman forward Alexa Newfield led the Bulldogs with six shots, and Pollock had three including the squad's lone goal of the day.

LOOKING AT C OF C: The Cougars are 3-4 on the season following Sunday's 6-1 rout of Presbyterian College in the closing match of the College of Charleston Tournament at Patriots Point. C of C took 24 shots on the day and allowed just four.

Sloane Levin led the way with two goals coming off the bench, while four players each had one for C of C.

On the season, Levin and Maryam Buazza each have four goals, with Buazza adding two assists for a team-best 10 points. Keepers Katie Tate and Cricket Wise have shared time in goal for the Cougars, who are tied for fifth place in the Southern Conference.

Georgia has never lost to a SoCon foe, going 17-0-1 all-time including a 3-0 ledger against Charleston. The teams' last meeting was in 2005, as the Bulldogs logged a 3-1 victory on Sept. 2 in Athens.

PRIMETIME PERFORMER: Georgia senior defender Kelli Corless has been named one of 15 Primetime Performers of the Week by CollegeSoccer360.com, it was announced Monday.

She had a pair of assists in Georgia's two games at No. 2 Stanford and against No. 9 Santa Clara. On Friday, she set up a goal by the Bulldogs' Marah Falle to give UGA a 1-0 lead over the Cardinal, who eventually won in overtime. Then on Sunday, Corless had the assist on Jamie Pollock's goal that tied the score against Santa Clara in the 81st minute. Corless has started all seven games for the No. 23 Bulldogs (4-2-1) this season.

KEEPING IT OUT OF THE NET: Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Ashley Baker notched a career-high 11 saves vs. Stanford on Sept. 10 and added 10 more against Santa Clara the following game. The Lilburn, Ga., native ranks first in the SEC in saves (41) and saves per game (5.86), while she is fourth in save percentage (.854) and fifth in shutouts (2).

The Bulldogs have given up only seven goals all season (1.00 per game).

WHAT'S NEXT: The Bulldogs continue their five-game homestand and open SEC play next weekend, hosting LSU and Arkansas on Sept. 24-26 at the UGA Soccer Stadium.
