ATHENS, Ga. --- The Georgia soccer team will travel to Tallahassee, Fla., to face Florida State in an exhibition game Friday at 4 p.m. This is the fourth straight year the Bulldogs and FSU have meet in the preseason at the Seminole Soccer Complex.
"It's going to be an incredible game," Georgia head coach Steve Holeman said. "What a test to play Florida State, No. 6 in the country. We need to see where we stand, and this will be a test. We've come a long way during the preseason. This will be a reality check for us to see how we match up against one of the top teams in the country. There is no question they have the ability to expose our weaknesses. We want to see where we are and what we need to work on."
The Bulldogs are coming off the Red & Black scrimmage last Friday at the UGA Soccer Stadium. There were five goals scored including one each by Marah Falle, Madeline Barker, Rebekah Perry, Alexa Newfield and Carli Shultis.
Senior All-SEC Kelli Corless and freshman Torri Allen will make their 2010 debuts after sitting out the scrimmage last week with injuries.
Georgia opens the regular season Friday, Aug. 20 at home against Duke.
