ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia's Will Glenn has been named the 2010 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division I Men's National Assistant Coach of the Year, the organization announced Tuesday.

The announcement came during a ceremony on the Georgia campus in conjunction with the men's and women's NCAA team championships concluding Tuesday evening in Athens.

"I know there are many deserving coaches and I'm very lucky to be thought of and to accept this honor," Glenn said. "It's an honor to accept this award for something I really enjoy doing - working with the guys and seeing them mature during their time here both with tennis and with whatever they go on to do after."

In his five seasons in Athens, Glenn has compiled an overall record of 135-16 (.894), including a 21-8 mark in 2010 while helping the Bulldogs to their fourth Final Four appearance in the last five seasons.

"This couldn't happen to a nicer person," said head coach Manuel Diaz. "I'm really fortunate to have him and happy that he's made such a great contribution to our program in the last five years."

The Athens native was promoted to associate head coach on the Georgia staff in July of 2008 after serving as an assistant since 2005 and following a standout playing career from 1999-2003. He helped lead the Bulldogs to back-to-back national championships in 2007 and 2008, after winning two as a player in 1999 and 2001.

Glenn has mentored six student-athletes to 13 All-America honors, working closely with the team in both on and off the court capacities. Prior to coaching at Georgia, Glenn served as a tennis pro at the Lloyd Neck Racquet Club in Long Island, N.Y., and the Dalkieth Tennis Club in Perth, Australia.
