Soccer Announces 2011 Spring Schedule

ATHENS, Ga. --- The Georgia soccer team this week announced its dates for the 2011 spring schedule, highlighted by four home contests including a matchup against the WPS' Atlanta Beat March 29.
The Bulldogs will open the spring campaign on Sat., Feb. 26 by welcoming a pair of 2010 NCAA Tournament teams to Athens. Georgia will take on South Carolina at 11 a.m. and Florida State at 3 p.m.
Road trips include a visit to league rival Tennessee on March 26, where the Bulldogs will also face Virginia Tech in neutral-site action, as well as a trip to meet ACC foes Wake Forest and N.C. State in Winston-Salem, N.C., on April 16.
The Beat will make the trip to Athens and the UGA Soccer Stadium on Tues., March 29. The Beat joined the WPS as one of two expansion franchises beginning with the 2010 season. Saturday, April 9 will mark the Georgia alumni game.

The Bulldogs went 11-6-4 in 2010, reaching the semifinals of the SEC Championships in Orange Beach, Ala.
