Duals In The Desert Recap

PALM SPRINGS, CALIF.-----Georgia freshmen Alina Jerjomina and Kate Fuller competed in the Duals in the Desert round-robin event here this past weekend.
They went 1-2 in doubles and Jerjomina picked up the lone singles win in matches against student-athletes from UCLA and USC. Jerjomina defeated Trojan senior Cristala Andrews 6-3,7-5 this past Sunday. After an 0-2 start on Friday, the Bulldog tandem notched an impressive 8-5 victory over UCLA's Pamela Montez and Nina Pantic on Saturday.
"We had tons of opportunities in all our matches, and while we played good tennis at times, we didn't carry it through," said Georgia coach Jeff Wallace. "Alina and Kate got a good win in doubles against the UCLA team that was the best duo out there."
Georgia's fall season is now complete. The Bulldogs will be in action again when the indoor season begins in January. They will play host to the Georgia Invitational (Jan. 14-16).
