UGA To Celebrate 1980 National Championship Team

ATHENS -- The 30th anniversary of Georgia's 1980 national championship team will be celebrated at halftime of this Saturday's Georgia-Idaho State game by recognizing head coach Vince Dooley and members of the team.
The 1980 team was undefeated, untied and defeated Notre Dame in the 1981 Sugar Bowl game to finish a 12-0 season.
Dooley, who coached the team to the SEC and national championships, will be present along with numerous members of the team. Among those expected to attend include team captain Frank Ros (LB), offensive captain and All-SEC Nat Hudson (OG), defensive captain and All-SEC Jeff Hipp (DB), All-Americans Scott Woerner (DB) and Rex Robinson (PK), and All-SEC players Tim Morrison (OT), Buck Belue (QB), and Eddie Weaver (DL).
Others being recognized during first half timeouts include the teams from 1940, 1950, 1960, 1970, 1985, 1990, and 2000.
