Spencer Falls To No. 7 Seed At National Indoors

FLUSHING, N.Y.-----Georgia junior Wil Spencer fell to the No. 7 seed Steve Johnson of Southern Cal, 6-4, 6-2, in the first round of the ITA National Indoor Championships Friday at the USTA-Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

The loss snaps the seven-match winning streak for Spencer, who is now 11-3 this fall. The Ponce de Leon, Fla., native will face play in the consolation round beginning on Friday.

Eight other Bulldogs will open play Friday in the Bulldog Scramble. Play is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
