AUBURN, Ala. --- The third-ranked Auburn Equestrian team won all four events and claimed a 13-6 decision over No. 1 Georgia here at the AU Horse Center Friday evening.

The loss was Georgia's first in five competitions this fall. Auburn improved to 7-2.

The Tigers took a 3-2 win in Equitation over Fences, typically a strong event for Georgia, and built upon their lead from there. They claimed the overall Hunt Seat win by posting four victorious rides in Equitation on the Flat.

Georgia's point scorers in Hunt Seat were Michelle Morris and freshman Olivia Dorey in the Fences event, as well as sophomore Grace Rogers in the Flat.

"We're certainly smarting from the results of today, but I give kudos to Auburn," said Georgia head coach Meghan Boenig. "They're a very good team that rode extremely well at home. They were very tough to beat today. I am confident that we will learn our lessons and make improvements from them."

On the Western side, Georgia notched two MVP performances from Maria Salazar with a 74.5 points in Horsemanship and Diandra St. Hilaire, who scored 72.5 in Reining. Together, they combined for two of Georgia's three points in Western. The other came from Becca Haaland in Reining.

"I was really proud of our two MVPs today," Boenig said. "They rode extremely well when we needed them the most. I would also like to thank all the supporters of Georgia Equestrian who made the trip down and helped to create such a fantastic environment for a competition. The result was disappointing, but we'll be back."

Auburn took the Western events overall with a 6-3 score by posting three points in both Horsemanship and Reining.

Next, the Bulldogs travel out to Las Cruces, N. M., to take on New Mexico State and Fresno State on Nov. 19-20.
