GEORGIA POST-GAME QUOTES

Georgia Head Coach Mark Richt:

"I told the team after the game, it doesn't matter what level of football you are, a shutout is hard to get - ever. That's just a great job by everybody on the defensive team. And when the offense doesn't turn it over and put the defense in a bad way that helps too. Everybody had a hand in that."

"When we win the turnover ratio, we're letting the hair grow just a little more on their faces. So if you see slobs, be happy, because it means things are going well in the turnover ratio."

"We've practiced more physically, and the guys responded to that. Early on, we were not finishing like we should. The last couple of games we've started well and grabbed some momentum."

"Uga VIII is a beautiful, undefeated, un-scored-upon dog."

"We've got to keep taking care of business. We've got to keep improving and build on the momentum we've created here. I see a lot of guys getting better and some younger guys making a contribution. We've got to keep banging away, keep believing and make a really good finish."

Redshirt Freshman Quarterback, #11 Aaron Murray

On today's game... "This was a great game by the offense and defense. It was the first real full of game of the year. The defense did a great job of getting off of the field and getting the offense the ball with great field position." On the performance of Georgia's running backs...

"Washaun (Ealey) did a great job. He broke a ton of tackles and put in a great second effort. Carlton (Thomas) did a great job too. He found some great holes, especially with that touchdown at the end."

On the team's progression this season showing in today's game... "We felt like we were consistent as an offense and a defense, and this is exactly how we felt we could play all year long."

Sophomore Tailback, #3 Washaun Ealey

On his performance... "I was really happy to get out there and help my team. I know that they were really depending on me. The coaches told me all week that I was going to get another chance, and I'm happy I took advantage of it."

On his 58-yard run in the first quarter... "It felt really good. A.J. (Green) had a really good block. But this is a team effort, so all the credit goes to the entire team."

Senior Inside Linebacker, #51 Akeem Dent

On the game... "The offense did a great job of scoring, and we were just trying to get to third down and get off of the field. I think we did a pretty good job of that."

On the defensive's progression to this point in the season... "We have a lot more confidence in the scheme and the things we are trying to accomplish. We are out there hitting hard and having fun.

Redshirt Sophomore Inside Linebacker, #45 Christian Robinson

On the defense's performance... "It's a confidence thing. After the first drive, we knew that we would be able to stop them. We just go the momentum early on and went on it."

VANDERBILT POST-GAME QUOTES

Vanderbilt Head Coach Robbie Caldwell:

On today's game... "This was a well executed plan gone awry. We got whipped in every phase of the game - offense, defense, special teams. Our center snaps the ball over the quarterback's head; at least we just gave up a safety. We dropped passes when we would have had first downs. It was a rough day overall."

On if he was embarrassed... "Always. Don't you get embarrassed when you get shutout - whether it's horse shoes, ping pong or whatever?"

On Vanderbilt's performance... "We took the opening drive down the field and had a chance to get something done, but we just didn't make the plays. We had some receivers open and under threw them. We normally will put you in a position to make the plays. Some days you make it some days you don't. It was just very disappointing. We just got whipped."

Redshirt Freshman Offensive Lineman, #67 Wesley Johnson

On Vanderbilt's performance... "We didn't play near as well as we could have. We just didn't play the way we know we can play. This can't be what happens for the rest of the season."

Redshirt Junior Quarterback, #10 Larry Smith

On Vanderbilt's performance... "We started off the day pretty good, but just couldn't get the ball going. It can't get any worse than today. We just have to move forward.

Redshirt Junior Linebacker, #13 Chris Marve

On today's game... "We just didn't execute. It's nothing that they did. It's what we didn't do. We didn't come all the way to Athens, Georgia to lose today. We didn't accomplish are goal."
