ATHENS, Ga. --- Former Dartmouth soccer standout Suzanne Baldwin, who most recently worked on the coaching staff at Michigan State, has joined the Georgia soccer program as a volunteer coach, head coach Patrick Baker announced this week.

Baldwin comes to Athens after spending the previous four years with the Spartans in the same capacity. She also brings full-time coaching experience from Stanford University and the University of Virginia, and has experience working with regional ODP programs and soccer camps.

“I am thrilled to be a part of the Georgia soccer program and to work under the leadership of one of the top coaches in the country in Patrick Baker,” Baldwin said. “The quality of the Turner Soccer Complex, the hospitality of the Georgia Athletic Association, and, most importantly, a great group of players and coaches to work with are just a few of my first-week highlights.

“I am very thankful for the opportunity and look forward to helping this soccer program reach its highest goals on and off the field.”

A first team All-America selection at Dartmouth, Baldwin was a four-year starter and earned All-Ivy accolades while helping the Big Green to one Ivy League championship and one appearance in the NCAA Quarterfinals. She served as team captain her final two seasons and was named to the GTE/CoSIDA Academic All-America National Squad in 1998.

She was a finalist for the prestigious Honda Award, given annually to the elite women’s soccer player in the nation.

Baldwin holds an NSCAA advanced national diploma.

She is married to Tony Baldwin and the couple has two children, Ella (3) and Abby (1).
