Monika Dancevic Named SEC Tennis Player Of The Week

ATHENS, Ga. --- University of Georgia senior Monika Dancevic has been named the Southeastern Conference Tennis Player of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.
Dancevic went a combined 3-0 in singles and doubles last week in leading second-ranked Georgia to a pair of wins over No. 21 LSU and No. 23 Arkansas. Dancevic is 25-11 in singles this year including 5-1 in the SEC. Against Arkansas, Dancevic and junior Yvette Hyndman stormed back from a 7-3 deficit in the No. 2 doubles match by winning six straight games for a 9-7 victory to clinch the doubles point.
Dancevic is the third Bulldog to earn SEC Player of the Week honors this season, joining sophomore Cameron Ellis (Feb. 9) and freshman Chelsey Gullickson (March 24).
The Bulldogs are 15-2 overall and lead the SEC with a 5-1 league record. Up next, they will go on the road to face No. 29 Auburn Friday and then No. 25 Alabama on Sunday.
