Caithness Named To Scottish World Am Team

Athens, Ga. --- Georgia's Krystle Caithness has been named to the Scottish National Team that will compete at the 2008 World Amateur Golf Championships, the Scottish Ladies Golfing Association has announced.
Caithness will be representing her country for the seventh time in international competition, including three events in 2008 the Curtis Cup, the European Ladies Team Championships and the World Am. She posted a perfect 3-0 record playing for Great Britain & Ireland versus the United States at the Curtis Cup in May and then finished 15th in stroke play qualifying while competing for Scotland at the European Ladies event in July.
Caithness, who also was a member of the Scottish side for the 2006 World Am in South Africa, says being named to a national team never gets old.
"It's no less exciting than the first time," Caithness said. "It's a huge honor for me to represent my country. Representing teams, both here at Georgia and for my country, is why I play golf as an amateur. I'm excited every time I get the chance to play in a team format. It's just as thrilling every time."
The World Amateur will be contested on October 8-11 at the Grange Golf Club in Adelaide, Australia.
"I can't wait to go," Caithness said. "I've never been to Australia, but it's someplace I've always wanted to visit."
Caithness and her Georgia teammates will open the 2008-09 collegiate campaign at the NCAA Women's Golf Preview on Sunday and Monday. Most of the nation's top teams are included in the field, which will be conducted on the same Caves Valley Golf Course layout that will host the 2009 NCAA Championships.
