ATHENS, Ga. Throughout the preseason and early part of the 2008 schedule, Bulldogs fans as well as softball enthusiasts have had the opportunity to get to know Georgia softball team with “In The Dugout” question and answer features on Georgiadogs.com. The 17th and final installment in the series is with freshman Megan Wiggins.
Question: What softball memory stands out the most for you?
Answer: When I was playing at Nationals in Indiana and I hit a triple against the USA Athletics in the bottom of the seventh. The batter after me got a base hit and brought me in and we got to advance to the last day of Nationals, where we finished fourth.
Q: Two words that describe you on the field?
A: Hardworking and determined.
Q: Two words that describe you off the field?
A: Fun and outgoing.
Q: What is your favorite place on campus (other than the softball field)?
A: East Village Commons.
Q: What are your favorite hobbies outside of softball?
A: I like to shop, go to movies, hangout with friends, listening to music and just rounding around in my car.
Q: Who has been your most influential role model(s) and why?
A: My father because not only has he taught me a lot of what I know, but he has been a friend to me and loved me unconditionally.
Q: Who is your favorite singer/musical group?
A: Lil’ Wayne.
Q: What song best represents you?
A: “I’m a King” by T.I.
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: Love and Basketball.
Q: What was your favorite TV show growing up?
A: Boy Meets World.
Q: What is your favorite TV show now? Do you have a favorite character on that show?
A: Law and Order SVU, and my favorite character Eliot
Q: What is your favorite color?
A: Hypnotic blue.
Q: Do you have a favorite food or meal?
A: Mac and cheese with green beans and steak with bread.
Q: Any hidden talents?
A: I play the trumpet.
Q: Any pets?
A: A dog named Lady.
Q: If you could have dinner with any three people, present or past, who would they be?
A: Barry Bonds, Mo’Nique and Sanaa Lathan.
Q: What is one thing that you’ve never been able to do, but you want to someday?
A: Do a one-handed push up.
Q: Who was your favorite teacher and what was your favorite subject in high school?
A: Ms. Smale and my favorite subject was Language Arts.

A: A detective.
Georgia (23-8) is coming off of its fourth tournament win of the year after going 4-0 in the Bulldog Invitational on March 11-12. Up next, the Bulldogs return to Southeastern Conference play against South Carolina (13-9) in Athens March 15-16. The series with the Gamecocks will be the home SEC opener for the Bulldogs.
