Georgia Women's Tennis Moves Up To No. 2

ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia’s women’s tennis team moved up two spots from fourth into a tie for second in the latest ITA national rankings released Tuesday. The Bulldogs are tied with Georgia Tech at No. 2. Northwestern holds the top spot.
The Bulldogs boast a 7-1 record including a 4-1 mark against top-20 opponents. They defeated then-No. 1 Georgia Tech, 4-3, last Saturday in Atlanta.
Baylor is fourth followed by North Carolina, Stanford, Florida, California, Duke and Miami (Fla.) to round out the top 10.
The Bulldogs have two singles players ranked in the top 100. Senior Kelley Hyndman is No. 32 and junior Monika Dancevic is ranked No. 51. In doubles, Yvette Hyndman and Naoko Ueshima are 21st and Dancevic and Kelley Hyndman are 22nd.
Georgia opens SEC play at Mississippi State on Friday followed by Ole Miss on Sunday.
