February 26, 2008 | Gymnastics

ATHENS, Ga. -- The Gym Dogs' 197.675-194.800 victory over Kentucky will be aired on CSS on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. and again Wednesday afternoon at 12:30 p.m.

The Gym Dogs used season-bests on two events to lead to their highest score since last year’s Super Six in defeating Kentucky, 197.675-194.800. Cassidy McComb won the all-around with a 39.550, becoming the first Georgia freshman to win an all-around title since Courtney Kupets in 2006. She either tied or surpassed career highs on all four events. She was named Southeastern Conference Gymnast of the Week for her efforts.

Georgia opened the meet with a season-best 49.475 on vault, with all six vaulters scoring 9.850 or better. The Gym Dogs followed that up with a season-best 49.550 on bars, also the highest bars score for Georgia since March of 2004 against Iowa State when they put up a 49.575. Kupets posted her second straight 9.975 to lead all scorers. Georgia ended strong on floor with its second highest tally of the year of 49.550, led by Courtney McCool who won her seventh floor title in eight meets with a 9.950.
