In The Dugout With Softball's Emily Herren

ATHENS, Ga. --- With the 2008 Georgia softball season now underway, Bulldog fans as well as softball enthusiasts will have the opportunity to get to know the freshmen members of Georgia’s softball team with “In The Dugout” question and answer features on Georgiadogs.com. The 11th installment in the series is with Emily Herren.
Question: What is your favorite thing about the sport of softball?
Answer: Getting to know the girls and coaches and the adrenaline rush you get when you are playing.
Q: What is your earliest softball memory?
A: Hitting my first homerun during T-ball and passing all the other base runners because I thought I had to be first to home to have my run count.
Q: If you could play any other sport in college, what would it be?
A: Football.
Q: Do you have a nickname on team? If so, why is that your nickname?
A: Bird, because my middle and last names are Grey and Herren, and there really is a bird called a Grey Heron.
Q: What is the best advice you have ever received from a coach?
A: The difference between a good athlete and a great one is the good athlete dwells on their mistake and it effects them the rest of the game but a great athlete learns from their mistake and moves on.
Q: Two words that describe you on the field?
A: Aggressive and persistent.
Q: Two words that describe you off the field?
A: Outgoing and crazy.
Q: What song best represents you?
A: “Who said I can’t be super man.”

Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: Happy Feet.
Q: Who is your favorite movie star?
A: Russell Crowe.
Q: What was your favorite TV show growing up?
A: Scooby Doo.
Q: What is your favorite TV show now?
A: Hannah Montana and Grey’s Anatomy.
Q: What TV/movie character are you most like?
A: Ice Box off of the movie “The Little Giants.”
Q: Do you have a favorite food or meal?
A: Mac-N-Cheese.
Q: Name one thing that people would be surprised to learn about you.
A: I am an identical twin, and I was the first female football player at my high school.
Q: Any pets?
A: A dog named Trout.
Q: What is the place that you haven’t traveled to, that you would most like to visit?
A: Florence, Italy.
Q: What is one thing that you’ve never been able to do, but you want to someday?
A: Bull riding.
Q: What is your favorite quote/saying?
A: “Never let your fears stand in the way of your dreams.”
Q: What would be your dream job?
A: To take over my dad’s private practice in Rome.

The event will take place at Big League Dreams Sports Park at Cathedral City and is hosted by Oregon State University.
