Bulldogs In The NFL - 2008 - University of Georgia Athletics

Bulldogs in the NFL - Week 1
A total of 28 former Bulldogs saw action in the first week of the 2008 NFL season.  The top performers included Pittsburgh’s Hines Ward, who hauled in six catches for 76 yards and two touchdowns in the Steelers’ 38-17 victory over Houston and John Kasay, who connected on all four field goal attempts in Carolina’s 26-24 win at San Diego.
 

Bulldogs in the NFL - Week 2
Kregg Lumpkin was one of 25 former Bulldogs who saw action in week two of the NFL season.  In his NFL debut Lumpkin had one carry for 19 yards and three receptions for 22 yards in Green Bay’s 48-25 win at Detroit.  In other games, Champ Bailey and Boss Bailey led the Denver defense in a 39-38 win vs. San Diego, and Hines Ward’s touchdown proved to be the difference in Pittsburgh’s 10-6 victory at Cleveland.

Bulldogs in the NFL - Week 3
A total of 26 former Bulldogs saw action in week three of the NFL season.  Among the top performers were Marcus Stroud, who lead Buffalo with six tackles as the Bills moved to 3-0, and Denver’s Boss Bailey, who had nine tackles in the Broncos’ 34-32 win over New Orleans.

Bulldogs In The NFL - Week 4
A total of 21 former Bulldogs saw action in week four of the NFL season.  Among the top performers were Reggie Brown, who led Philadelphia with six catches for 79 yards, and Denver’s Boss Bailey, who was second on the team with eight tackles.

Bulldogs In The NFL - Week 5
A total of 24 former Bulldogs saw action in week five of the NFL season.  Among the top performers were Hines Ward, who hauled in seven catches for 90 yards in the Steelers’ victory over Jacksonville and Boss Bailey, who had 10 tackles in Denver’s 16-13 win over Tampa Bay.

Bulldogs In The NFL - Week 6
A total of 22 former Bulldogs saw action in week six of the NFL season.  Among the top performers were Tim Jennings, who led the Colts with 10 tackles and added an interception and a forced fumble in the 31-3 win over Baltimore, and Will Witherspoon, who had seven tackles for St. Louis in the Rams’ first win of 2008.

Bulldogs In The NFL - Week 7
A total of 21 former Bulldogs saw action in week seven of the NFL season. Among the top performers were Sean Jones, who recorded 10 tackles and forced a fumble in the Browns’ loss, and John Kasay who remained perfect on field goal attempts this season with three more against New Orleans.

Bulldogs In The NFL: Week 8
A total of 21 former Bulldogs saw action in week eight of the NFL season.  Among the top performers were New England’s Richard Seymour, who had seven tackles and four quarterback hurries in the win over St. Louis, and Carolina’s John Kasay, who kicked two more field goals and has now connected on all 16 attempts this season.

Bulldogs In The NFL: Week 9
A total of 18 former Bulldogs saw action in week nine of the NFL season.  Among the top performers were Washington’s Demetric Evans, who had six tackles against Pittsburgh and Indianapolis’ Tim Jennings, who had four tackles and forced and recovered a fumble in the Colts’ 18-15 win over New England.

Bulldogs In The NFL: Week 10
A total of 21 former Bulldogs saw action in week 10 of the NFL season.  Among the top performers were Pittsburgh’s Hines Wards, who hauled in nine catches for 116 yards, and Sean Jones, who had seven tackles for Cleveland

Bulldogs In The NFL: Week 11
A total of 23 former Bulldogs saw action in week 11 of the NFL season.  Among the top performers were Pittsburgh’s Hines Wards, who hauled in 11 catches for 124 yards in the win over San Diego, Will Witherspoon, who led the Rams with 12 tackles, Richard Seymour who had 10 tackles for New England, and the Patriots’ Ben Watson, who had eight catches for 88 yards and a touchdown.

Bulldogs In The NFL: Week 12
A total of 22 former Bulldogs saw action in week 12 of the NFL season.  Among the top performers were St. Louis’ Will Witherspoon, who led the Rams with eight tackles against Chicago, and Cleveland’s Sean Jones, who had four tackles and an interception against Houston.

Bulldogs In The NFL: Week 13
A total of 23 former Bulldogs saw action in week 13 of the NFL season.  Among the top performers were Carolina’s Thomas Davis, who had eight tackles in the Panthers’ win over Green Bay, and Hines Ward who caught five passes for 37 yards and a touchdown in the Steelers’ 33-10 win over Green Bay.

Bulldogs In The NFL: Week 14
A total of 23 former Bulldogs saw action in week 14 of the NFL season.  Among the top performers were Carolina’s Thomas Davis, who had 10 tackles in the win over Tampa Bay, and Jermaine Phillips who had six tackles and an interception for the Bucs.

 Bulldogs In The NFL: Week 15
A total of 22 former Bulldogs saw action in week 14 of the NFL season. Among the top performers were Tampa Bay’s Jermaine Phillips, who had 12 tackles and a fumble recovery against Atlanta, and Hines Ward, who led the Steelers with eight catches for 107 yards.

Bulldogs In The NFL: Week 16
A total of 22 former Bulldogs saw action in week 15 of the NFL season.  Among the top performers were Carolina’s Thomas Davis, who registered 11 tackles, Denver’s Champ Bailey, who had a team high nine tackles, and Hines Ward, who hauled in seven catches for 109 yards and a touchdown for Pittsburgh.

 Bulldogs In The NFL: Week 17
A total of 23 former Bulldogs saw action in week 17 of the NFL season. Among the top performers were Indianapolis’ Marcus Howard, who recorded a team-high seven tackles, Hines Ward, who hauled in six catches for 70 yards for the Steelers, and Chris Clemons, who registered two tackles and returned a fumble 73 yards for a score in the Eagles’ 44-6 win over Dallas.
