ATHENS, Ga. With the 2008 season quickly approaching, Bulldog fans as well as softball enthusiasts can get to know members of Georgia’s softball team with “In The Dugout” question and answer features on Georgiadogs.com. The fifth installment in the series is with junior Christie Hamilton.
Question: What do you like most about the city of Athens?
Answer: The football game day atmosphere.
Q: What is your favorite thing about the sport of softball?
A: Striking out batters.
Q: What is the best part of being a collegiate-athlete?
A: Being a role model to little kids.
Q: You wear #63 because...
A: It is my favorite Psalm in the Bible.
Q: Two words that describe you on the field?
A: Focused and relentless.
Q: Two words that describe you off the field?
A: Goofy and laidback.
Q: What are your favorite hobbies outside of softball?
A: Studying, sleeping, shopping and surfing.
Q: Who has been your most influential role model(s) and why?
A: My mother because she is so positive and very strong willed.
Q: Who is your favorite professional athlete?
A: Derek Jeter.
Q: What celebrity would you most like to meet?
A: Tom Brady.
Q: Who is your favorite singer/musical group?
A: Fergie and Akon.

A: Josh Duhamel.

A: Wish Bone.

A: I can surf.

The Georgia softball team will open its 2008 season by hosting the Red & Black Showcase Feb. 8-10 at the Georgia Soccer/Softball Complex. On the opening day of the tournament, Feb. 8, Georgia will play No. 10 DePaul at 4 p.m. ET and the College of Charleston at 6 p.m.
