Georgia Football Practice Notes: September 27, 2007

September 27, 2007 | Football

ATHENS, Ga. --- The No. 15-ranked Georgia Bulldogs (3-1, 1-1 SEC) went through their final workout in helmets and shorts on Thursday afternoon in preparation for this Saturday’s Southeastern Conference meeting with the Ole Miss Rebels (1-3, 0-2 SEC) at Sanford Stadium.

The practice lasted for a little over an hour with the Bulldogs battling rain for a majority of the session before the inclement weather cut the workout short.

“We were in the last phase of our preparation and were hoping that the weather was going to hold out for us,” Georgia head coach Mark Richt said. “The practice was just 75-percent good because that’s all we were able to get in of it.”

Prior to the practice, Richt met with the media and was asked about the status of senior tailback Kregg Lumpkin’s thumb injury.

“Right now we think (Kregg) will be clubbed up again this week,” Richt said. “We’re hoping next week it can be modified to the point where we feel comfortable with him running the ball.”

Richt also noted that junior free safety Rowdy Francis is questionable for the contest with Ole Miss with a hamstring injury.

Kickoff on Saturday will be at 1:07 p.m., and the game will be broadcast live on the Bulldog Radio Network on AM 750 WSB in Atlanta and on both 106.1 FM and 960 AM - The Ref in Athens. The radio audio also can be heard worldwide on both georgiadogs.com, the official website of UGA Athletics, and on XM Satellite Radio, Channel 200.
