Georgia Football Practice Notes: September 24, 2007

ATHENS, Ga. --- The Georgia football team returned to the Woodruff Practice Fields on Monday to prepare for its third Southeastern Conference game of the season.

The Bulldogs logged approximately 90 minutes of practice time on Monday. Georgia is coming off an overtime victory at Alabama, but Coach Mark Richt said that win has been filed away.

"It was an exciting win, and I was very proud of the players for their efforts," Richt said. "But we all know that win came after a good week of preparation, and that's what we need this week to get ready for Ole Miss. All of our attention is on the Rebels."

The Bulldogs are ranked No. 15 by The Associated Press with a 3-1 overall record and a 1-1 mark in the SEC. Ole Miss is 1-3 and 0-2.

Richt announced before practice that Sean Bailey (offense), Marcus Howard and Jeff Owens (defense), and Chris Gaunder (special teams) will serve as captains against the Rebels.

Earlier in the day, tailback Knowshon Moreno was named the SEC Freshman of the Week. Moreno rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown in the victory against Alabama.

The Bulldogs will host Ole Miss at Sanford Stadium at 1:07 p.m. on Saturday. All Georgia games are broadcast live on the Georgia Bulldogs Radio Network on AM 750 WSB in Atlanta and on both 106.1 FM and 960 The Ref in Athens. The radio audio also can be heard worldwide on both georgiadogs.com, the official website of UGA Athletics, and on XM Satellite Radio.
