Georgia's Hyndman And Ellis Capture Singles Titles

KNOXVILLE, TENN. --- Georgia senior Kelley Hyndman and freshman Cameron Ellis won a singles title in their respective flights at the St. Mary’s Classic Sunday.

In the flight three final, Hyndman defeated Berkeley Brock (N.C. State) 6-2,6-4. Ellis, making her collegiate debut, claimed flight five after rallying back to beat Stephanie Wooten (Purdue) 4-6,6-0,6-1. Sophomore Adrienne Elsberry fell short in her bid for the flight six title. Zsofia Zubor (Tennessee) posted a 7-5,6-4 win over Elsberry in the final.

At the Ole Miss Fall Classic in Oxford, Georgia’s Naoko Ueshima lost in the finals of the top draw to second seed Micahela Babicova (South Alabama) 6-3,7-5. In the semifinals, Babicova recorded a 6-2,6-1 win over Bulldog junior Monika Dancevic. Babicova and Katie Welch captured the doubles title including an 8-5 semifinal win over Dancevic/Ueshima.

The fall tournament season continues Sept. 21-23 when several Bulldogs will be competing at the Georgia Tech Invitational.
