'Red, White & Blog': Jaleesa Rhoden Journal Entry #1

July 25, 2007 | Women's Basketball

Jaleesa Rhoden, who will be a red-shirt freshman for the Georgia Lady Bulldogs this season, is a member of the Canadian National Team competing at the FIBA U19 World Championships in Bratislava, Slovakia from July 26-August 5. Rhoden, a native of London, Ontario, will be making her return to competition for the first time since suffering a knee injury in May 2006. She also represented Canada at the 2005 U19 Worlds in Tunisia when she was just 17 years old. While in Slovakia, Rhoden will supply periodic updates about her experiences both on and off the court in a "Red, White & Blog" on georgiadogs.com.

'Hey Bulldog Fans,

'Our Canadian Team has spent its first day and a half in the country of Slovakia! We arrived yesterday at 8 Tuesday morning after a long flight from Toronto to Prague and then to Bratislava. So technically we didn't sleep much considering the time change, however we were very excited to be in a new continent.

'Along with our arrival came our first practice. Since we only arrive 10 hours prior, we had to adjust pretty quickly. We stayed awake by keeping ourselves active. We went for walks, and got some shopping done. It was nice to keeping moving around so that we didnt become sleepy, especially since it would have been late night in Canada.

'We are excited for tomorrow's game against Serbia. It will be a great test for our young team and for myself as well as this will be my first game in just over a year. Hopefully the next time you hear from me Canada is 1-0!!!!!

'The journey to Slovakia has ended, but the fun is only just beginning!

'Take care Bulldog Fans!'
