McIntyre Inducted Into Georgia Sports Hall of Fame

ATHENS, GA-------- Former University of Georgia offensive lineman Guy McIntyre of Thomasville was one of nine individuals inducted into the State of Georgia Sports Hall of Fame this past weekend in Macon.
While McIntyre is known as an outstanding offensive lineman at UGA from 1980-83, he was also a starter on three Super Bowl champion teams with the San Francisco 49ers during his 13-year NFL career from 1984-96. He played in five Pro Bowls and was selected All-Pro twice (19 89 and ’92).
At Georgia, he was a first team All-SEC offensive lineman and second team All-American in 1983. He played on Georgia’s 1980 national championship team along with three Bulldog SEC Championship teams (1980, ’81,’82).
McIntyre was named the winner of the 1983 Jacobs Blocking Award as the best blocker in the Southeastern Conference.
