'Dogs Add Two More Sunday

ATHENS,Ga. --- The University of Georgia added two players in Sunday's final day of the NFL draft giving the Bulldogs four total players selected by professional teams.
Tight end Martrez Milner of Gainesville was the first Bulldog taken Sunday as he was selected by the Atlanta Falcons with the 34th pick of the fourth round (133rd overall selection). He was followed in the sixth round by offensive tackle Ken Shackleford of Villa Rica who was chosen with the 16th pick, 190th overall, by the St. Louis Rams.
Georgia players taken in Saturday’s first day of the draft included Georgia’s two starting defensive ends, both of whom went in the third round: Quentin Moses of Athens (first pick, third round, 65th overall, Oakland Raiders) and Charles Johnson of Hawkinsville (20th pick, third round, 83rd overall, Carolina Panthers).
The most Georgia players ever taken in a seven round draft is eight in 2002. Seven Bulldogs were selected in the 2003 and 2006 drafts while six were taken in 2005, 2001 and 1999. Four were taken in 2004, 1996, and 1993 among recent drafts.
The four Bulldogs chosen this year bring to 36 the total number of Georgia players selected in the past six NFL drafts.
