Gym Dogs Receive Multiple Awards

ATHENS -- The Southeastern Conference announced on Tuesday that nine members of Georgia's gymnastics team have been named to the league's Winter Academic Honor Roll.
Audrey Bowers, Paige Burns, Nikki Childs, Adrienne Dishman, Kelsey Ericksen, Katie Heenan, Ashley Kupets, Courtney Kupets and Abby Stack all finished with grade point averages of 3.0 or better in the last year.
Also, the college gymnastics coaches association recently announced that Heenan has been named the Southeast Region Gymnast of the Year. Heenan ended the regular season ranked No. 1 in the all-around, while also ranking ninth on floor and fourth on vault. She tied with teammate Courtney Kupets for the SEC's All-Around title, and last week she earned a victory on the balance beam at the NCAA North Central Regional.
Georgia next travels to the NCAA Championships in Salt Lake City on April 26-28. The Gym Dogs are looking to become the first team since Utah in the 1980s to win three consecutive national team titles.
