Bulldogs Leading Schenkel E-Z-GO Invitational

STATESBORO, Ga. --- Boasting four players among the top eight, the Georgia men’s golf team has a 14-shot lead after two rounds of the Schenkel E-Z-GO Invitational.
The second-ranked Bulldogs played 36 holes on Saturday, recording loops of 287 and 277 for a total of 12-under-par 564. Georgia will enter Sunday’s final round with the double-digit advantage over South Carolina.
“We are pretty happy with the way things went today,” Georgia coach Chris Haack said. “I thought our guys played solid golf. Their course management was very good. Hopefully we can keep it going for one more round.”
Chris Kirk, the reigning SEC Player of the Week, is in first place individually, while Brendon Todd is second, Brian Harman is fifth and Adam Mitchell is eighth.
Kirk and Todd each posted 4-under 68s in the second round, while Mitchell carded a 3-under 69 and Harman had an even-par 72. In the first round, Harman and Kirk each shot 2-under 70, while Todd had a 1-over 73 and Mitchell fired a 2-over 74.
At 6-under 138, Kirk has a three-shot lead over the group in second, including Todd at 3-under 141. Harman is at 2-under 142 and Mitchell is at 1-under 143. Hudson Swafford had consecutive rounds of 3-over 75 and is 44th at 6-over 150.
The Schenkel E-Z-GO Invitational will conclude on Sunday. Live scoring is available through golfstat.com.
